Webinar Information

"A New Era of AI: Exploring Multimodal Embedding Observability" will be hosted by John Dickerson, Arthur's co-founder and Chief Scientist, and Zach Nussbaum, Principal Machine Learning Engineer at Nomic. This event will be livestreamed on Zoom starting on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 1:00 PM ET.

2024 is the year of multimodal, and multimodal embeddings are some of the most exciting developments in this space. In this upcoming webinar, we’ll discuss key concepts at the intersection of embeddings and ML observability, best practices for implementation, a behind-the-scenes look at building and training a multimodal embedding model, and use cases with multimodal RAG.

Attendees will leave with an understanding of:
- Multimodal embeddings and their applications
- Current capabilities for monitoring embeddings, from NLP to computer vision
- The latest research in the multimodal embedding space
- What the future could look like for multimodal embeddings and, more generally, open-source AI innovation

Presenter Information

John Dickerson is Arthur's co-founder and Chief Scientist as well as an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of Maryland. He works at the intersection of machine learning and economics, with a focus on designing incentives that promote "good" participation in complex systems.

His research centers on solving practical economic problems using techniques from computer science, stochastic optimization, and machine learning. He received his PhD in computer science from Carnegie Mellon University (SCS CSD PhD '16). Learn more about John here.

Zach Nussbaum is a Principal Machine Learning Engineer at Nomic AI where he leads the development of Nomic Embed, the embedding models that power Atlas. He led the development and deployment of Nomic Embed Text, a state of the art long-context text embedding model, and Nomic Embed Vision, creating the first latent space to outperform OpenAI CLIP and OpenAI Text Embedding 3 Small on multimodal and text tasks respectively.

Previously, he has worked on machine learning at Deep Genomics and Speaker ID at Amazon Alexa.

Arthur is the AI performance company. Our platform monitors, measures, and improves machine learning models to deliver better results. We help data scientists, product owners, and business leaders accelerate model operations and optimize for accuracy, explainability, and fairness.

Arthur’s research-led approach to product development drives exclusive capabilities in LLMs, computer vision, NLP, bias mitigation, and other critical areas. We’re on a mission to make AI work for everyone, and we are deeply passionate about building ML technology to drive responsible business results.

Last year, we launched Arthur Shield, the first firewall for LLMs; Arthur Bench, the most robust way to evaluate LLMs; and Arthur Chat, a completely turnkey AI chat platform.

At Nomic, we build tools that enable everyone to interact with AI scale datasets and run AI models on consumer computers. Nomic's mission is to improve the explainability and accessibility of AI. We believe that AI is a once-in-a-century technical innovation, and that everyone should be able to both participate in and benefit from it.
